What is a Jade Roller & Gua Sha?

A Jade roller is a small handheld tool made of a smooth jade stone, used to massage the face and neck. The roller has two ends, one larger and one smaller, which are used to target different areas of the face. The larger end is used for broad surfaces like cheeks, forehead, and neck, while the smaller end is used for more delicate areas like under the eyes and around the nose. The jade stone can help to reduce puffiness, increase circulation, and promote lymphatic drainage, which can give the skin a brighter, more youthful appearance.  

Gua Sha is a facial massage technique that uses a small handheld tool made of jade stone, often shaped like a flat, curved spoon. The tool is used to apply gentle pressure to the face and neck in sweeping motions, targeting areas where tension is held, like the jawline, cheekbones, and forehead. Gua Sha helps to release tension in the muscles, stimulate circulation, and promote lymphatic drainage, which can help to reduce puffiness and promote a brighter, more radiant complexion.

How to use & care:

Jade Roller:

1. Cleanse your face and apply your favourite serum or facial oil.
2. Start at the centre of your face and roll outwards towards your ears. Use the larger end of the roller for your cheeks, forehead, and neck, and the smaller end for the under-eye area.
3. Apply gentle pressure and roll the jade roller up and down, back and forth, and in circular motions. You can also roll diagonally to target all areas of your face.
4. Repeat each movement 5-10 times and move on to the next area of your face.
5. To use the roller around your eyes, start at the inner corner and roll outwards towards your temples.
6. Finish by rolling downwards on your neck and across your collarbones to promote lymphatic drainage.  
   
   
   

Gua Sha:

1. Cleanse your face and apply your favourite serum or facial oil.
2. Hold the Gua Sha tool at a 15-degree angle to your skin.
3. Start at the centre of your face and scrape outwards towards your ears. Use light to medium pressure and be sure to keep the tool flat against your skin.
4. Use the curved part of the tool to scrape your forehead, under eyes, eyelids, side of nose, cheeks, and jawline, and the straight part for your neck and chin. It can also be used on parts of the body, back & legs.
5. Repeat each movement 5-10 times and move on to the next area of your face.
6. To use the tool around your eyes, gently scrape from the inner corner of your eye towards your temple.
7. Finish by scraping downwards on your neck and across your collarbones to promote lymphatic drainage. 
   
   
   

It's recommended to use both tools 3 times a week for best results, and to clean them after each use with a soft cloth or cotton pad.

Tip: Store the roller or scraper in the fridge. It will have a gentle cooling effect that helps relieve fatigue and reduce facial puffiness.

Gua Sha: 
Forehead, under eyes, eyelids, side of nose, cheeks, jawline, neck, chin.  Body parts such as back & legs.

The roller is 5.8in/14.7cm in height. 
The large roller is 1.7in/4.3cm, and with the metal, it is 2.2in/5.6cm. 
The small roller is 0.8in/2.0cm, and with the metal, it is 1.5in/3.8cm. 
The Gua Sha scraper is 2.1×3.3in/5.3×8.3cm.

Materials

100% authentic rose quartz, natural jade or Xiuyu jade. 

(Please allow 0.39–0.79in/1–2cm error in the sizes due to manual measurement. 

The scraper may have slight defects as it is a natural material.

Please note that each item will not be the same in colour, pattern or thickness as these items are carved by hand from natural stone. There may also be a colour variation due to lighting and computer monitor differences.
